Welcome to our world!

HELLO and WELCOME to our website!! We are so glad you are here and checking us out. Golden Travel Group was founded in 2022 with the intent to help others achieve their travel dreams. In 2014 our family had our own world turn upside down. We were living life with a kindergartner, thinking we had all the time in the world, and out of nowhere came the word no one wants to hear. CANCER. We were in our 30's, how could this be happening? Sean was diagnosed with colon cancer. After a year of surgeries, doctor appointments, and chemotherapy he was cancer free. The first thing we did to celebrate Daddy beating cancer was head to Walt Disney World. While there, we wore buttons that said "I'm Celebrating" and mine said "my husband beat cancer", our 6 year old daughter wore one that said "my daddy beat cancer", and Sean wore one that said "I beat cancer". That trip solidified in us that we needed more time together. We needed more memories together. We needed a lot less stuff. And most importantly, we needed to not wait. We decided we would stop saying we would do this or that and start doing this and that. We stopped giving gifts and started giving trips. We started celebrating all the milestones. We visited all inclusives, took cruises, and rode rides at theme parks. We took week long vacations and quick weekend trips. We started seizing the moment. With the help of our travel agent, Rebecca Marr, we celebrated things with friends. I always joked that I should be her assistant. I was always researching, pricing, and working on the details of our trips with her. When she formed her own travel agency in 2021 she invited me to join her. After much thought, Golden Travel Group was formed. Sean and I have loved planning trips for friends, family, and strangers that have become friends. We hope that you will make that bucket list and let us help you plan your trips of a lifetime. As we say at the Golden house, DON'T WASTE THE GOLDEN YEARS!! The "Golden years" are now. We are not promised tomorrow. Grab those friends, that family, or the friends that are like family and lets make it happen. The pandemic taught the world that anything can change in an instant. Cancer made that hit home for us, long before there was a pandemic.
